Alexander & his wife are buried in Cullen Old Kirkyard. Alexander was a church elder and a  member  of the local council. Lord Seafield decided he wanted to establish a new town of Cullen,  in order to move all the existing residents from living close to his private residence, "of Cullen  House." Alexander Lobban was one of the names on the signed document, including the estate  factor and the local minister, of the Parish of Fordyce, which included cullen at that time.  Alexnder  had a drapery and  merchants store in the square, of the new town, where the existing Clydesdale  Bank is now situated. I obtained a copy of his will from the Registrr in Edinburgh for the main  benefit of his gt/gt/gt/gt/grnd daughter,Jannette Jasper in Rutherglen in Victoria, Australia.  Jeanette and her husband Brian have been in Scotland several times and have spent some time  with Bert & Margaret Lobban in Banff, and  the 4 of them have had a few walks around Cullen  including an enjoyable tour through the Old Parish Kirk and Kirkyard where her ancestors  Alexander Lobban and Barbara Barnet are buried.

His son William, who had the Thornbush Brewery, at Inverness, was the executer of his will.
