Dear Sir
I had the pleasure of receiving your letter of 7th Inst. with Acct of another Division of the funds of my late friend W. Alex. McTavish - I am desired by Mrs McTavish to draw on you for the amount £224.10 through Smith P---------------- which I have done accordingly of this date, - I have entered one of the lads to be a Cabinetmaker in Inverness, thinking it the most suitable trade to which I could bind him and I hope he will do very well, - the other, Donald I have not yet determined what to do with - his portrait intended for his Mother as directed by Mr. Nicol Finlayson is ready and will be sent to you to be forwarded the price is Thirteen shillings, 13/- which if you wish I shall pay,
