Hi All,

My name is Alastair Chisholm - introducing a new surname to the Stratherrick fold!
Most of my Chisholm ancestors came from Strathglass, west of Beauly ... but a few Chisholms strayed across to Stratherrick in the 19th century including my great grandfather, William Chisholm who was farming at Killiechoilum in 1881 where he lived with his widowed mother Sarah (nee MacDonald) and a farm hand, Donald MacDonald.
in 1890 he married my great grandmother Annie MacDonald whose family ran the hotel in Whitebridge for a number of years.
Also, another related Chisholm family, Alexander Chisholm and his wife, Mary Cameron farmed Migovie in the 1870s.

Best wishes to all,
Alastair

Hi Alastair
Can I assume you're related to Alister Chisholm?

Hi Graeme,

I'm sure we're related in some way - but he's not on my tree yet ... I presume you are referring to the shinty man...?

Have you and I exchanged info before on the Clan Donald forum some years ago?

That's the one. Get in touch with him - he's a very nice lad. And no, I've never spoken to you before. Who are Mary Cameron's parents? John Ramsay and myself have collated vast numbers of Camerons originating from Boleskine but we don't have Mary as far as I can see.

I'm pretty sure Mary Cameron didn't originate in Stratherrick but came over with her husband from Strathglass after they married in 1869.
Her parents were Donald Cameron and Margaret Chisholm.
