182 to Noah... doing the math...
369 years to Noah after Enoch at 65...
969 years for Methusala... after Methusala died, the flood came.

It 's made me chuckle anyway---- Ive often come across funny little asides and colourful nicknames for ancestors along the way ----isnt it heart-warming to find our old folk had a sense of humour even in the most fragile of times!
Mind you----there really could be some basic truth here if you traced back far enough---- and Noah's kids would be used to a lot of water so they'd feel very much at home
in Scotland!!

what i can say rhona is we were nicknamed mhic methusala- but never nicely; it seems to have always been used as an insult or begrudgingly. even in the bonn galtiere ballad the phairson chief refers to the mctavish as clann mhic methusala and as they were about to try and wipe us out i doubt it was complimentary

worry not . ive spoken at great length to lord macpherson at tomatin and his museum curator andrew macpherson and the rift was long repaired.we're all friends now whats interesting is that they recorded at the time that the tavish....'fought alike(sic) twa man each (fought like 2 men each) an' ken nay fear'(and knew no fear)
quite complimentary really. that will teach them to pick on the wrong clan!

as for steven, the wee of brain and stature, ive never seen a more un natural kilt wearer! he couldnt find a map of scotland in a scottish atlas. he destroys nothing but himself and the reputation of the greatest of clans. worry not truth seeker; his time is over.

Something along the lines of "those who can't, steal." :angry: Apparently, he has been doing the same thing with the Dunardry webpage. Anything new goes on there and it shows up on "Patrick's" page copyrighted to HIM!!! Or Patricia!!! Or Steven!!!

The shoe really fits, doesn't it Patrick?

He should be totally ashamed and, instead, he thumps himself on the checst and trumpets how great HE is when HE didn't do a thing but steal! Man, what a group.

Good to see another chapter added to True MacTavish......looks like a lot of the Dunardry information may need revised. And I know REAL MACTAVISH is friendly with the Campbells, but I'm just not sure there isn't some "coloring" of the facts due to their own history and their dislike (however warranted) for Dugald..............

OK -I'll try :blink:

It just seems like there's SO MUCH stuff going on! I mean, the dubious new leader (I'm not sure what his status is, but he sure isn't chiefly material :-( destroying the only group supporting his clan, then that new web page TRUEMACTAVISH popped up, then the clare constat and then the revised DHA clan site. It seems they (DHA) are going on with what they were doing, but I've been to Steven's clan webpages and they aren't doing anything! Just moaning and groaning about not having volunteers. They still haven't got an organization. What happened to MAY when they would show how great they were versus how awful DHA. Well, it looks like that sure didn't work out. And then, there's the stuff that guy Patrick is doing. Not impressive and that's the nicest thing I can thin of to say.

It's confusing switching between Dunardry and DHA when I mean the same people and site. So, from now on I'll just call it DHA and the one with Patrick, Steven, Donley, Patricia and all will be 'Steven's.' Their name is too long.

But it's not been boring. You never know what new thing is coming around the corner, do you? Or - do you?
