I've found a few pictures I took several years ago on a fine summer's day in Stratherrick and I thought that maybe you'd like a wee look.
The first few are on the road to and at Killin where the old folk went for the summer pastures.

Then it's Loch Mhor.

And the closest I get to Garthbeg.

This is Wester Muirnich where my grandfather used to help out at times just up the hill from Loch Mhor.
This cluster of farms and houses were built around the old General Wade road but the new road runs closser to the loch now. The Gallows were very close by just behind this photo.

This is the Muirnich steading where they kept their implements and stored hay etc. Theses buildings smelled lovely and Scottish inside. All steadings smelled the same!

The front of the steading facing the house. Between the house, the steading and the byre was a lovely little dung heap. It smelled a bit Scottish as well!
On the road from Gorthleck to Foyers.

This last picture is a bitty gritty but I wanted to show it to you so you could see what the original General Wade road looked like untouched. The trees are new but the road is as it was. There are still signs of some of the old houses which were dotted along it. Not much though. I used to visit with my Grannie a woman called Bella Grant and there is nothing left of her house but a few boulders. But when you all come to Stratherrick you really should have a good poke around this area.

Drumtemple Kirk. Note that there are no old stones there anymore. They are probably in the river with with OPR.

The hill overlooking Garthbeg.

I've made a slight mistake. This is the photo of the front of the Muirnich steading with the dung pile. I'm not going back to change it though. Far too complicated. Far too lazy.
